    To qualify, your monthly income should exceed $1,000, and you need to have a job or a reliable income source from retirement, benefits, etc. While some lenders prefer employment, you must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen. Military members may encounter fewer lender options due to compliance with the Military Lending Act, potentially reducing approval chances. Each lender may have specific requirements beyond these minimums.
